Synopsis
One word.
Stay.
It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and
took my heart with him.
That was seventeen
years ago.
I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I
ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.
Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to
return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe.
However, fate has a way of stepping in.
This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision.
Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been
broken . . .
** This book is a STANDALONE **
I think this is one of the most beautiful second chance
romances I have read in a while. It’s
devastating, but then beautiful, and sweet.
I especially love that it’s set in a small country town in
Tennessee. Everyone knows everyone, but
also knows their business, which sometimes isn’t always a good thing, especially
for Presley.
Zach and Presley had it all as teenagers. Young love and a future was all a part of
their plan. Until Zach made a decision that changed their entire lives forever.
Picking up the pieces, Presley made the decision to move on and try to be
happy.
Presley is now married, has twin boys Logan and Cayden, and
seemingly has the perfect life, or so she thought. When devastation uproots her from the only
life she has known, she has no choice but to take her boys and move back to her
parents’ farm in Tennessee. Home is one
place she has been hiding from for years.
Returning home, she never expected to come face to face with her first
love again.
Presley and her sons are trying to adjust to life on a farm
and running into old friends isn’t always easy, especially when the whole town
knows her and Zach’s history. It turns
out that Wyatt, Zach’s brother, is one of her closest friends and I loved this
part of the book. Wyatt is quite a
character. He’s sexy, funny, and quite
the charmer. But, not enough to charm
Presley, because her heart has always belonged to Zach, even after all this
time.
Running into Zach is harder than she thought it would be,
especially when she finds out he has moved on and not to one of the nicest
girls in town that’s for sure. What a
bitch she was! I couldn’t believe that
this hateful witch was paired up with this hot and sexy cowboy who has a heart
of gold.
“I loved after I lost you, too. But it was never close to
what I felt for you.” - Zach
The more Presley and Zach are thrown together, which Wyatt
and her brother Cooper had a part in, the more those old feelings resurface and
they find their love never died. One
thing I enjoyed about this book is that they really wanted to talk things out,
wanted to deal with their emotions, and get it out in the open. But, Presley has been hiding one secret from
Zach and that could ruin their newfound relationship. What a doozy it was and poor Zach was just
broken. This is one part that I really
loved, because you get all of the emotions he was feeling and you’re just
hoping for things to get better for him and them, too.
Zach ends up being an important part of Presley and the
boys’ lives. He’s so good to them and I
adored him for that. Not many men would
try to take on a woman with two kids, but he did it beautifully. This cowboy is a sweetheart and some of the
things he done was amazing. Like I said,
he has a heart of gold. So many times, I
was smiling during this book because his actions just blew me away. Every time he spoke to Presley, I was just
swooning.
“You’re the most beautiful thing in the world. Because
you’re made for me. Just like I was made for you.” - Zach
By the end of this book, I couldn’t have been happier and I
love how well things worked out for them.
Just a perfect ending that you won’t soon forget. Their love is the
forever kind of love that I enjoy when I read a book. You get life’s ups and downs in this book and
that’s what makes it all so real. I fell
in love with all of the characters and this small town romance is so beautiful
and emotional. If you’re looking for
sweet, sexy, and all of the feelings in between, then pick up this 5 star
book. Now, I want Wyatt’s story!
