What happens when opposites attract?

Tyler has spent the last six years constructing his perfectly boring life, which is exactly the way he wants it. He spends his days hiding behind the protective walls he has so carefully built and has no intentions of changing . . . until he meets the unpredictable.

Lennie Jacobs is an intoxicating mess. She never stays anywhere long enough to form a solid relationship with anyone, including her family, because she has taught her fragile heart that love isn’t an option.

What started as a way to pass the time soon blossoms into something neither expected.

He was never meant to be permanent.

She can’t promise forever.

But, when life and love are on the line, everything changes.

Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

I don’t think I have seen any couple in a book that is more opposite than Tyler and Lennie.  But, that is one thing that I really enjoyed about it.  It’s different, cute, and what a change of pace from other books I have read lately.

Tyler is quiet as a mouse, living day to day, minding his own business.  He’s a loner who works from home.  He practically never goes out unless his roommate pretty much forces him out.  Little does he know that the knock on his door would be the last thing he ever thought he wanted in his life.

Lennie is a wanderer.  She never stays in one place for long and coming back to stay with her sister is just another stop in her life.  She has no intention of staying any length of time until she meets Tyler while coming to ask for cooking supplies.

Tyler knows right from the moment they meet that Lennie is nothing like any woman he has ever known.  As much as she gets on his nerves from the moment they meet, he knows he feels something different with her.  Attraction?  Curiosity?

As the days pass and Lennie becomes a constant visitor, never even knocking on Tyler’s door, he soon realizes that he looks forward to those unexpected visits.  She brings a spark to his life that he hasn’t known for a very long time.  The more they start spending time together, the more Tyler wants to see her.  She is breaking his monotonous routine and giving him his life back.

But, he soon discovers that Lennie has a secret, and I must say it wasn’t one I was expecting.  It really threw me for a loop.  Tyler and Lennie’s entire world could be destroyed by her secret, and I enjoyed seeing how much closer that brought them as times goes by.  Tyler’s character really grows throughout this book.  I loved seeing him come out of his shell and be the man Lennie needs in her life.  Their love is beautiful, but not easy for either of them.  Lennie is so used to up and leaving when she wants and having Tyler willing to sacrifice everything he has ever known for her really opens up her heart so much.  Lennie’s actions are hilarious, and she is such a great personality.  I just loved her and Tyler together, especially seeing how opposites attract in this 4 star book.
