That noun sums up Ghost and what his life has become with painful precision. He is barely living, merely existing but never thriving. There wasn’t much that could pull him from the darkness he willingly inhabits…except one thing. Her. She is the reason he’s done what he’s done, and his life has become what it has become. Beard Up is book six in The
Dixie Wardens Rejects MC and it blew me away!
I have been so curious about Ghost because he was the most
secretive. He was so dark and
mysterious, and I couldn’t believe his story once I started.
Ghost has quite a past. He had to “die” to protect his family. So many secrets with his cruel and powerful
parents that he felt the only way to keep them alive is to protect them by
disappearing and faking his death.
After keeping a close watch
on his wife and daughter for years, and having his friends keep an eye on them, he finds out
they are in more danger than he first thought.
He does the only thing he knows to do and that is to bring them
home. Little do they know that he’s not
the same man they once knew.
The more he sees his family,
the more he knows he wants them back.
But, is he willing to endanger them again? I wasn’t sure what would happen next, and I
was anxious to see what was he was going to do.
I am not revealing anything
else because this book is quite a shocker.
It’s full of suspense and action, but a true second chance romance. Ghost is hot and sexy, and I love seeing him
open up to his wife and daughter again by trying to be the man they remember. He’s tough and badass, but so tender and
sweet with them. I have loved every book
in this series, but I think this is my favorite. I was anxiously awaiting Ghost’s book, and it
is well worth the wait! Lani’s writing
continues to impress me because you can’t help but love the characters in each
book, and I look forward to more of this MC after reading this 4.5 star book!
