Scorned is the second book in the Ruthless Rebels MC series. This is a series of novellas that are full of action, sexy bikers, and a hot romance. Austin (Shamus) and Andrea were first loves. They had the perfect relationship until Andrea overhears Austin having a conversation with his friend, and her heart gets broken. Deciding to leave it all behind, including Austin, she decides to put her career on the front burner. She leaves town to pursue her career in journalism. While trying to get the scoop on a story that might change her career, tragedy strikes and she is forced to return home. Learning to start her life over, of course one of the first to welcome her home is Austin and not in the friendliest ways. But, who can blame him? She left him without a reason. It’s so sad as to how she has to come home. I’m glad she did but this poor girl isn’t the same girl as she used to be in so many ways. “You’re my home, Kitten. Thick or thin. Ride or die. Sickness or health.” – Austin Austin soon finds out why Andrea left, and my heart just broke for him. He was so sad to find out he lost the woman he loved over a misunderstanding. When Austin finds Andrea in a dangerous situation, he sees how broken she is. But, let me tell you this guy really surprised me by his actions. It didn’t deter him from wanting to protect her, and it seems it made him love her even more. For a big bad biker, his love for her is so intense. Every time he called her Kitten, I think I fell for him myself. “Scars are tattoos that tell a story. Your scars, Kitten, only make you more beautiful.” - Austin Austin just has a heart of gold and stops at nothing to keep her safe. Several times, I thought I would tear up because he is so sweet and tender. For a novella, it’s action packed and full of drama. So much happened in their book that I would have loved to see it spread out in a longer book. However, as with a novella, I understand it’s short and to the point. I’m loving this MC, and after reading this 4 star book, and seeing that the next book is about Skinny, I’m so curious to see what happened to this broken man. |
