Carly Phillips

After a successful fifteen year career with various New York publishing houses, and over 40 sexy contemporary romance novels published, N.Y. Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carly Phillips is now an Indie author who writes to her own expectations and that of her readers. She continues the tradition of hot men and strong women and plans to publish many more sizzling stories.

Lauren Hawkeye

New York Time and USA Today bestselling author Lauren Hawkeye never imagined that she'd wind up telling stories for a livingÖ though when she looks back, it's easy to see that she's the only one who is surprised. Always "the kid who read all the time", Lauren made up stories about her favorite characters once she'd finished a bookÖ and once spent an entire year narrating her own life internally. No, really. But where she was just plain odd before publication, now she can at least claim to have an artistic temperament.

Lauren lives in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada with her husband, two young sons, pit bull and two idiot cats, though they do not live in an igloo, nor do they drive a dogsled. In her nonexistent spare time Lauren can be found knitting, reading anything she can get her hands on, or sweating her way through spin class. She loves to hear from her readers!

Blog Tour - SOUTHERN SWEETS by Cori Williams

TITLE: Southern Sweets: A Midnight Novel

AUTHOR: Cori Williams

PUBLISHER: Booktrope Publishing

Sugar and spice don’t always play nice—Amelia Emerson learned that the hard way after her heart was snatched straight from her chest. What was done could not be forgotten.

Tanner made his choice, and there was no turning back from the hurt he caused. Amelia is left dealing with the aftermath and trying to juggle the new life she has been handed.

Worn down, she struggles to gain back the confidence she once possessed, and prove to everyone she is able to do things on her own—But when life takes another sharp turn in an unexpected direction, will she be able to let go and start fresh? Or is the pain too unbearable to forget?

After reading Midnight Ballerina and falling in love with Miller and Monroe, I was so glad to get Tanner and Amelia’s story and it was a very rocky road for them in this book.  It’s not a must to read Midnight Ballerina but I feel like it makes this story so much better because we get more of Miller and Monroe in this book as well.
Amelia has always been the perfect daughter and followed her snooty parents’ wishes, no matter how miserable she made herself.  Even dating the rich and perfect man, she knew that was not a life she wanted.  She wanted to be a chef and I really admired her for stepping up and making her own choices.  She is definitely a stronger woman than I thought she was in Midnight Ballerina. However, those choices come with a price that will change her life forever.

Tanner has been married to his high school sweetheart for years and in book one, we find out life isn’t always perfect.  Tanner wants to make his marriage work, but no matter what he does, he can’t forget hot and feisty Amelia.  They weren’t together long, but he couldn’t get her out of his mind and heart, even knowing he was trying to do the right thing with his wife.  Sometimes fate intervenes and when Tanner finds himself imbedded in Amelia’s life forever, those feelings resurface.

My heart just broke for Tanner and all this poor man had to endure.  Even though he tried as hard as he could, he always seemed to make the wrong choice.  Just when he makes his decision, his past intervenes and destroys their world in more ways than one.  Throw into the mix of insane Danny who wreaks havoc on Amelia’s life and what a story we have!  I would loved to have strangled Danny myself!

Tanner and Amelia come together and are definitely a one of a kind couple.  Their back and forth banter is one thing I really loved about this story.  As irritated I seemed to find myself with Tanner at times, I really did fall in love with his character.  He’s such an easy guy to love once you dig deeper inside his heart.  Plus, seeing the relationship Amelia and Monroe still share even though they have their own lives is a real bonus for me.  I love how well Monroe supported Amelia in her decisions, even knowing that it could interfere with her relationship with Miller.  And, I do love how Miller supported Tanner as well.

I think Cori’s writing is getting better and better with each book. Her stories are unique and that’s one of many things I love about her writing.  The characters are easy to understand and you get a different kind of romance.  One that shows strengths and struggles.  One that shows obstacles in life. Nothing is ever easy in a relationship and you really get that in this story.  I applaud Cori for another great book and give this book 5 stars.

Cori Williams is a contemporary romance writer who recently relocated from Michigan to southern living in the mountains of North Carolina. When she's not busy taking care of her three young children and sometimes fourth, aka as her husband, you'll find her tapping away at the keyboard with music blaring and endless amounts of candy fuel at hand. Her love of reading from a very young age transferred over to a love of writing and now the stories are never ending as she creates the happily ever afters for her characters with sometimes bumpy journeys along the way. "Forever isn't always easy."

Blog Tour - RoomHate by Penelope Ward

Swoon-worthy Justin Banks is FINALLY HERE in
 RoomHate by Penelope Ward!

AVAILABLE ON ALL RETAILERS:

Blurb
From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Ward, comes a new standalone novel.

Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right?

Not when it’s Justin…the only person I’d ever loved…who now hates me.

When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise.

The same boy who turned into the teenager whose heart I broke years ago.

The same teenager who’s now a man with a hard body and a hardass personality to match.

I hadn’t seen him in years, and now we’re living together because neither one of us is willing to give up the house.

The worst part? He didn’t come alone.

I’d soon realize there’s a thin line between love and hate. I could see through that smug smile. Beneath it all…the boy is still there. So is our connection.

The problem is…now that I can’t have Justin, I’ve never wanted him more.

Author's note – RoomHate is a full-length standalone novel. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

His eyes darted to the side, and he noticed me standing there. We just stared at each other. It was ironic, but the only times I could ever feel the remnants of our old connection were in fleeting moments of silent eye contact. Sometimes moments of silence spoke the loudest.

I left him alone again, making my way back down the hall and into the restaurant to tend to the customers I’d been ignoring.

Things really started to get busy. Without Jade working tonight, we were short-staffed, and I was having a hard time keeping up with the orders. Sandy’s had indoor and outdoor seating. Normally, I would only be working one section, but tonight I was going back and forth between the two.

It was nice out, so I knew they would have Justin performing outside. I kept glancing over to the small stage to see if he was there. It was past eight, and he hadn’t made an appearance yet.

Sometime close to eight-thirty, I was in the middle of serving a large party of ten when I first heard it: the chilling sound of a soulful voice that was not familiar in the least. He gave no introduction. No warning. He just started to sing out the first few words, followed by the strum of his guitar. The song that Justin had chosen to start with was a cover of Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers.

The entire room soon quieted down, and all eyes were on the stunning blond male specimen with the spotlight shining down on him. Despite the fact that I was carrying a large round tray of dirty dishes, I couldn’t move. The vibration of his thick, smoky singing voice had completely paralyzed me, penetrating my body and soul.

Aside from the lone teardrop that fell the night he lost it on me during steak dinner, I hadn’t shed any more tears—until now. It was all too much. Hearing how different his voice sounded, how he’d trained it over the years, was a wake-up call as to how much I had missed. All of the hours of practice that must have gone into honing that beautiful voice, and I wasn’t there for any of it. The guilt, the emotions, the reality of a decade gone…everything started to pummel me at once. Not to mention the song—about a girl leaving. It probably had nothing to do with me, but in my mind, it sure as hell felt like it did.
